Click to visit! Face Book My Space You Tube Yahoo Groups : send us a email request to join June 1, 2011 For Immediate Release: As many of you know, we have not published a SCEDA schedule for this year and we have not emailed or published any information for 2011. In December of 2010, the track only gave SCEDA two weekends, July 16-17 and August 13-14. The final answer from the track at the beginning of December was that we were only going to be allowed two weekends. The schedule was then changed on the Auto Club Dragway website to add additional dates for SCEDA of June 11-12 and July 16-17. However, SCEDA was never notified by the track regarding the schedule change and was not able to confirm that the dates were in fact accurate. We did not want to publish dates that had not been verified with the track, as the schedule we had received in December showed the June dates as junior races and we were specifically told we would only get two weekends. On June 1 st , we noticed that the Auto Club Dragway website had been updated again to remove all of the Summit and Association races, including SCEDA, for the remainder of the 2011 season. As of now, SCEDA has no races for the 2011 season. Hopefully the track will be able to resolve the issues and be able to allow the various associations and SCEDA to run once the issues are resolved. We hope to be back to racing at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana as soon as possible. We will advise when we are updated by the track. We have appreciated all of the support from the racers and sponsors over the years. We hope to be able to resume racing later in 2011 or in 2012. If you have any questions, please contact us at 888-488-RACE (7223) or email to race@sceda.com . Both drivers had amazing reaction times with Diosdado having a .002 and Chandler Meziere having a .009 as well as running 8.941 on his 8.94 dial for a .010 package to take the honors of being the 2010 ARP Race of Champions for Junior Dragsters Champion. In the semis, Chandler Meziere had the bye run and Diosdado defeated Chandler’s older brother Zach Meziere. Zach went red by .008 to end the hopes of an all Meziere final round. The first round saw Chandler defeat Madison Whitten. Chandler had the reaction time off the line and that propelled him to the next round. Diosdado defeated Ryan Greenwell. Both drivers had identical reaction times and ran over their dial by .013 making for margin of victory to be .0009. The last matchup saw Zach defeat Austin Greenwell. Zach had the reaction time advantage and that allowed him all he needed to take the victory. All the drivers were definitely trying to win this race and the level of competition was stellar. All the competitors did a great job and congratulations to Chandler Meziere on being the ARP Race of Champions winner. ARP Race of Champions Auto Club Dragway Fontana, CA August 15, 2010 By: Brad Cannon In the ARP Race of Champions, it was Corey LeClair taking the victory over Steve Bruns. With the win, LeClair took home the $1600 prize. The reaction time advantage went to Bruns who had a great .006 light, but he was not able to run the number. This allowed LeClair to take the victory by .0019. The semi finals saw LeClair defeating Don Gatlin. Gatlin had a stellar .005 light but LeClair put together a .012 package by running a perfect 7.950 on his 7.95 dial with a .012 light. The other matchup saw Bruns defeat a red lighting Chad Langdon. As Langdon was the last No-E car standing, this ensured that an Electronics car would take the victory for the first time in ARP Race of Champions history. Second round saw LeClair defeating a red lighting 2009 ARP Race of Champions winner John Joines. Bruns defeated Daniel McClelland. Both drivers had identical lights and McClelland broke out by .002. Gatlin Defeated Jeff Interlicchia with a .017 light and a 10.841 on a 10.84 dial leaving no room for Interlicchia to win as he had a .018 light. Langdon defeated Dick Krieger by having a great .003 reaction time. The first round saw Interlicchia defeating Tony Mandella, Gatlin defeating Agnew who went red by .046. McClelland defeated Chris Vels in a double breakout affair. Krieger Defeated Doug Broaddus with a great .004 light. LeClair defeated Zach Meziere in a great race with both cars being close off the line LeClair running closer to his dial. Bruns defeated Sam Robinson IV with a 9.909 on his 9.90 dial. Joines defeated Ryan Mangus by having the better reaction time. The final first round matchup saw Langdon defeat Gabe Torres who went red by .002. All the racers were in fierce competition and congrats to LeClair on being the 2010 ARP Race of Champions winner. Race 7 (August 14, 2010) Auto Club Dragway Fontana, CA By: Brad Cannon In the Meziere Enterprises SCEDA Electronics Class, it was Gabriel Torres taking the victory over Zach Meziere. In the final, Meziere went red by .001 handing the win over to Torres. Torres had a great .004 light and then clicked it off and coasted through to take the victory. With his win, Torres received a SCEDA Big Guy trophy, $1000, and qualified for the 2011 Race of Champions. In the semis, Meziere had the bye run. On this run he ran 8.024 on his 8.02 dial to advance easily. In the other matchup, Torres defeated “Dead on” Don Gatlin. The reaction time advantage went to Torres, who had a .010 package with a .010 light and running a perfect 7.770 on his 7.77 dial. I guess the 7.77 dial was his lucky number. By going one round further than Gatlin, Meziere moved into a tie for the lead of the overall season standings with only one race left. The Arias Pistons Dial Rite was won by runner up Zach Meziere. He ran 8.093 on his 8.09 dial to claim the honors. Honorable mentions for the day go out to Dan Simmons, who ran a perfect 10.900 on his 10.90 dial in the first round to defeat Bill Jackson, Steve Bruns who ran 9.903 on his 9.90 dial in the first round albeit on a losing effort to Joe Glenwinkel, semi finalist Don Gatlin for running 7.686 on his 7.68 dial in the first round to defeat Corey LeClair who ran 7.978 on his 7.97 dial, winner Gabe Torres for running 7.829 on his 7.82 dial in the first round to defeat Dave Gotts who ran 10.904 on his 10.90 dial, Simmons for a .009 light in the second round to defeat Joe Glenwinkel, runner up Zach Meziere for running a perfect 8.090 on his 8.09 dial in the second round to defeat Brian Calvin, Meziere for a .006 light in the third round to defeat Simmons, Torres for his earlier mentioned .010 package in the semi finals, and Torres one more time for his earlier mentioned .004 light in the final round. Sunday’s race will tell if it will be Gatlin taking his second consecutive SCEDA championship or if it will be the rookie, 16 yr old Zach Meziere. In the Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels SCEDA No-E Class, it was Ryan Priddy taking the victory over Chad Langdon. The reaction time advantage went to Priddy by .002 and that gave hi...
